FAQ de Wijs macro lens 2007

- Does the 3D macro lens fit on my camera?
The macro lens is attached to the SLR body by means of the T2 ring. Convince yourself of the sensor size of your SLR before ordering a lens. On websites of well known camera brands you can find in the technical specifications this information. De Wijs has fixed range of camera brands that is is compatible with the macro lens (T2 ring). These are Canon (EOS), Nikon, Minolta (Sony), Pentax and Olympus (analogue). If you camera is not in this list, you have to find a ring yourself. 

- How long does it take to receive my ordered macro lens?
Macro lenses are assembled on demand. Depending if special parts have to be ordered, it takes about 2 weeks to deliver a lens.


- Can  I still use my viewfinder? Then I can leave the metal viewfinder way?
No, that is almost not possible because of the very small fixed aperture of the lens. There is almost nothing you can see through it when te lens is attached.

- When I receive the lens, is it ready for use?
After receiving the lens, it has to be aligned in combination with your camera. The lens is well aligned at the factory but needs some fine adjustments to solve differences in height of the stereo image on the sensor. The user manual explains how to do that yourself.

- What kind of flash lamp do I need?
For the right exposure you need a flash lamp with variable power settings.

- Does the macro lens also work without flash lamp?
No, not in normal circumstances. The small aperture requires a lot of light or extreme long exposure times which is not practical.

- I do have a de Wijs macro lens for my old SLR. Can it be adapted to fit on my digital SLR?
Yes it can. Fact is that the lens is originally build for 24x36 mm. slides so it only fits on full sensor sized SLR's. De Wijs can mount a new T2 ring on it for 75 Euro's.
Lens models older than model 2007 cannot be adapted for for example APS sized sensors. Model 2007 and more recend can be adapted with another T2 ring and changed to be compatible with other sized sensor sizes. For such a total change (T2 and sensor compatibility we charge 150 Euro's.
